Three Things You Need To Know To Move On

When things are outside of our control we must learn to accept them. Consider the serenity prayer which says exactly this.

Now acceptance doesn’t mean that we approve of what happened it means we acknowledge that it happened and we are not going to allow it to control us or be a heavy weight we carry anymore. Acceptance means we will let go of control and move forward to focus on the things within our control. 

When dealing with heartbreak moving on can be extremely challenging. 

Here are three things you need to understand in order to move forward in life

  1. You know there is not always closure- you can be at ease by creating your own closure 
  2. Most of what people do is not about you it’s about them 
  3. You cannot change people or the past

I understand your feelings. Moving on in fact is tough and healing does hurt. Be patient with yourself because you’re meeting parts of yourself that need healing. It takes time. But know that you will smile again and you won’t always feel this way.
