Should I create a mini course?
Creating a full-length course can
be a big undertaking and may overwhelm some people. The good news is if you're not ready to create a large course you can consider a mini-course.
A mini-course is a short online course that people can access to learn more about a particular topic. For most mini-courses they can take 2 hours or less to work through.
A mini-course doesn’t require nearly as much effort or time. It’s not as big of a commitment.
This can be a good thing if you have never created an online course before or want to give it a try.A mini-course lets you
found what will work and what may not without exhausting you. You’ll figure out what
forms of content resonate with your audience, and
then you can take that and apply it to your future full-length online courses.
Don’t let fear paralyze you
when it comes to getting your content out into the world. Instead
you can consider beginning slowly with a mini-course and show your expertise to those who are following you and would love a chance to learn from you.
A mini-course is a condensed version
of what you would sell in a longer or full course.
To keep a mini-course valuable you will take the larger course and narrow it down as far as you can while still making it valuable for your audience.
Overall I have had many clients enjoy mini-courses because it gives you freedom to explore your creativity and you don't have to deal with as much pressure. Without all the pressure of tons of work ahead of you creating a mini-course can also help you finish faster giving you the boost of confidence you may need to go forward and create a full course. Also, mini-courses can be used as teasers to later promote your larger course.
