The Do's and Don't Of Course Creation
If you have already begun I am sure you're experiencing this at this moment. So today I want to share a few do's and don't's to take some pressure off of you.
1. Find the RIGHT idea! Don't try to be everything to everyone. Your job is to find that one need of your audience and determine how you can best support them.
2. Take a moment to think- What is the purpose of my course? - What do you hope to achieve by sharing your course? Having a purpose gives you a blueprint of what to aim for, when you have nothing to push towards you won’t be motivated to work. Having a purpose increases your confidence when you write.
3. Use content you already have. Take the blogs, podcasts, books, ebooks etc and determine what material you can use within your course. Determine which content has already resonated with your audience and build on that as well.
1. Just use any idea! Any idea will appeal to a mixed audience and bring you a lot of people who are not ready for your services/products. When you create a course to everyone you actually create it for no one!
2. Create without a strategy! You need some sort of strategy to get your course completed without the overwhelm. I promise you that going in blindly will quickly drain you of energy and leave you with no desire to finish. In addition, it will make it almost impossible for your audience to gain anything from your course
3. Use all your old content. Never ever try to slap together content you have and call it a course. If people can find all of your info for free you shouldn't be charging them for a course. Instead use that material and build on it to ensure you're not just giving information, but transformation as well.
