Teach People How To Treat You

Are you tired of being treated unfairly?

Do you feel guilty when you share how certain behaviors are hurting your feeling?

Do you know you can change that?

There may have been a time when you were younger or when you were vulnerable where you were treated poorly and you thought that was how you deserved to be treated. You're not there anymore...things have changed and you have the power to make a shift in your relationships. Ultimately you have the power to control how people treat you.

You just have to be willing to step into it.

The first step to change how people treat you is to notice when we allow or reinforce people being able to treat us poorly. A lot of times this begins in our own mind and in our own actions. Typically the way that we treat ourselves gives a perspective to other people of how they are allowed to treat us.

The second step is to realize that you ultimately have the power. You have the power to make a shift in your relationships and it doesn’t make you selfish, and it doesn’t make you a bad person. In fact, it’s the best thing you can do for your overall well-being. When you recognize this power it takes you a step closer to receiving the respect that you deserve.
The third step is to love yourself. I mean truly love yourself. People who love themselves don’t allow themselves to be treated like crap. And think about someone that you truly love if you knew someone was treating them unfairly you would want to help them make a change. This is why it’s so important for you to truly love yourself. Many times we look outward to build our self-esteem and we want to make other people happy. The reality is the relationship that we have with ourselves is our longest standing relationship and so it’s important that we show self-kindness self-respect and self-care by teaching other people and ourselves how we deserve to be treated.

Now I want you to take a moment and write out a commitment to yourself to set the standards into play so that you are treated in a fair manner moving forward.

Remember ultimately you are in control of how people treat you.....
