5 daily tasks for authors

The biggest mistake you can make as an author is to assume that your book will sell itself. 5000 books are being publishing every single day and unless you’re intentional about showcasing both your book AND yourself as an author your book will collect dust. Trust me that is NOT the best use of your book. Whether you wrote your book to impact or entertain or both your job is to make sure you get it in the hands of the people who need it most.

Here are 5 things you can do weekly to stay engaged as an author

  1. Engage on social media so like comment and even start conversations
  2. Consider your ideal reader and put yourself in their shoes. It may be tempting to always want to sell to them but what else do they want from you?
  3. Blog/post/Vlog. The more present you are the more your current readers and new ones have a chance to learn more about you and your writing style.
  4. Educate yourself. As a life long learner I recognize the huge need to always be learning. When you stop learning you stop growing and in turn if you stop learning and growing you will stop impacting. Therefore make continued learning your priority.
  5. Review your previous week and determine what worked and what didn’t work.
Being an author is one of the best titles I carry . While it may be a lot of work it is ALWAYS worth it.
