Creating a Killer Sales Funnel
A Sales Funnel is a step-by-step process that allows you to bring your potential customer one step closer to your offer and a buying decision through a series of marketing actions like automated emails, videos, articles and landing pages that will do the selling for you. For example maybe you have a free training, that leads to a free strategy call with you that then leads you to sell the customer into your course. Or maybe you do an Instagram LIVE showing off your new releases this week, and share a 20% coupon which leads people to purchase the new suede jacket.
While a lot of people get overwhelmed and frustrated with the sales funnel process there are tons of benefits to having a sales funnel in place. These benefits include:
Having an automated system in place removing the work you have to do in the long run
Conversion rates are improved
Marketing becomes easier
Better understanding of your customer journey
The good news is while you may have once felt overwhelmed with the sales funnel you don't have to any longer. In today's blog I will share how you can make an effective and engaging sales funnel.
The reason most people do not find success with sales funnels is that they make with funnels with the intention of getting people to buy instead of focusing on serving. Please know the effort is the same, the energy is different. Your audience will connect with your energy and when it feels forced or fake they will NOT engage. On the other hand when it's authentic and engaging they will be excited to take the next step. Let's compare the difference between a general and authentic sales funnel:
There is a MAJOR difference between the two and your customers will notice it and in turn your business will be impacted by it. So let's talk about how you can build an authentic and engaging funnel:
Know your audience (pain points and what engages them etc.)- the more you know about your audience the more effective your sales funnel will be
Know what you need to offer them- You can assume all day what you audience wants but if you do not truly know it won't help you. So if you're helping your audience learn how to budget, do they want to know how to use the envelope system or how to save money for retirement. If you're offering your audience a lovely necklace do they like earthy tones or bright colors? Know what they want so when you offer you're giving them something of value.
Create a place for them to join your funnel- Make sure you have this par together. You do not want people ready to engage and ready to take the next step and having nothing in place to support them. So create your website or landing page so they can become a part of your funnel.
Engage your audience and offer them the next step- The worst thing you can do is force a sale or focus only on the sale. Take some time to get to know your audience, engage with them and let them get to know you. For example in many of my initial emails I always share a YouTube video all about me so they can get to know me better. Or I may ask a question as ask them to reply and I ALWAYS reply back to let them I am open to engaging and learning more about them.
Allow them to take action- Once they're on your funnel be sure to give them something they can take action with. Whether it is a free call with you, a 20% coupon etc. Make sure you make it easy to take action because if they have to jump through too many hoops they won't.
Evaluate, reflect and adjust on it regularly. - The biggest mistake you can make is to say that once you create the funnel it's done. You need to actively review and adjust your funnel. This will help you to see where clients are taking next steps or where they disengage. Knowing this information will allow you to tweak your funnel to be most effective.
