Using Hypnotherapy To Declutter Your Mind

If you think hypnosis is just a way for magicians to get their audience to do something silly, think again. Hypnosis is a well-studied tool that psychologists can use to help patients overcome bad habits and negative thought patterns in just a few sessions.

If you suffer from mental clutter such as bad habits, negative self-talk, worries about the future, or regrets from the past, hypnosis could be helpful for you.

How Does Hypnosis Work?

In hypnosis, a therapist leads a patient through guided relaxation and focus exercises. This allows patients to sink into a state of heightened focus in which they are more susceptible to suggestion. This allows new ideas to sink in faster than they would otherwise.

For example, for someone who bites their nails when they are stressed, a therapist could suggest that they take a few deep breaths instead of biting their nails. In normal therapy, a nail-biter might nod and smile at that advice and carry on chewing their nails. Under hypnosis, the state of relaxation and heightened focus helps the brain hear that message, resulting in behavior change.

In the hands of a skilled therapist, hypnosis can be a safe and effective way to lower pain, release stress, and alter bad habits such as smoking, overeating, procrastinating, or negative self-talk.

With hypnosis I have helped my clients to have MAJOR breakthroughs because we get to the root of the issue. Not that surface level crap that we constantly are trying to perfect with little to no luck.
