5 Tips for Creating a Webinar to Remember

One way to attract more customers to your business is through webinars. With a single event, you can offer information, demonstrate your expertise, and win over some prospects and even new customers. Show your prospects that you’re an authority in what you do.

However, there is a little hurdle to pass through: Getting people in those seats. Webinars are extremely popular these days so you’re competing with thousands of others for your audience’s attention. People are generally picky about which webinar to attend for this exact reason but here are some tips to get more people to register – and show up for – your webinars.

1. Choose a Relevant Topic

The topic of your webinar is the most significant factor that prospects will base their decision on. If the topic appeals to them, they’ll show interest. Otherwise, they’ll pass it. The topic has to address the pain points of the targeted audience. It’s all about what is in it for them.

Your webinar must bridge a particular need gap and should be chock-full of useful information. While you’re planning, try listing out the subtopics that will be addressed in the webinar and convey this information on your registration page. Your audience will know exactly what they stand to gain. You must do your market research to find out what your audience needs, then base your webinar on those answers.

2. Get Creative with Your Webinar Title

Try to present the topic of your webinar in an irresistible form. Even if you have a great topic, it may not attract the right audience if not presented well. If headline writing is not your forte, consider hiring an experienced writer for this. Explain what the webinar is about and let the writer come up with the best topic and subtopics. Also remember to stay within the limits of what you hope to deliver with your title. Don’t promise what you won’t or can’t give.

3. Communicate with Your Registrants Before the Webinar

Reach out to the registrants of the webinar through their emails before the big day. Ask them questions about their individual needs and expectations with regard to the webinar. This will help you to design the webinar to suit their needs. It will also help you to build a relationship with them. Most importantly, if they see you as someone who really cares about them, you will gain their loyalty before your webinar even starts.

4. Ditch the Replay

Of course, some registrants may miss the webinar due to circumstances beyond their control. That’s why it is necessary to send the replay to all the registrants whether they attend the webinar or not. However, don’t let them know that you plan to send a replay. Some of them will decide to wait for the replay instead of attending the webinar live. You want people in those seats live because you want to build up that excitement so they (hopefully) will purchase your offer that same night. Watching a replay doesn’t build the excitement in quite the same way.

Even if some of them ask about the possibility of getting a replay, tell them you’re not sure. Don’t promise that there will be a replay. That way, they’ll make more effort to attend the live webinar.

5. Promote Yourself

The more people hear about your webinar, the more likely they will be to attend it. So, it is essential to spread the word far and wide. Email your list of subscribers and promote it on social media. Also consider a paid advertising campaign online to reach prospects in a different part of the country or world. You can also ask your affiliates to promote the webinar as well; even though THIS event is free, they can still earn commissions for any products their referrals purchase after the webinar ends.

The effectiveness of your webinar strictly depends on how many people attend, and attending live often yields the best results when it comes to converting prospects into customers.
