The Quickest Way to Waste Your Time

 

Obviously, we do NOT want to waste time but many of us have small habits that take our time away from activities that push us closer to reaching our goals
Here is a list of the most common time-wasting activities:
  1. Scrolling social media without intentions
  2. Playing video games or online games
  3. Watching TV (Netflix, Hulu, Cable, etc)
  4. Oversleeping intentionally
*these are not the only activities that waste our time but they are the most common*
Don’t get me wrong we all deserve to have downtime to do things that are fun but we have to be intentional about not taking too much downtime because before you know it you will be seriously behind on the things that matter.
So how do you know if you’re wasting time?
-If you know the activity you’re doing isn’t in alignment with your overall goals
-If you know that the activity isn’t checking things off your to-do list
-You just know. Most of the time we know we shouldn’t be sleeping in or watching a whole season in one day but we do it because it feels good
-If you know the activity puts you behind with something important or takes you away from something important
I am not against fun times at all, in fact, I look forward to those times the most. After all, you deserve it! I have learned over the years that we have to be intentional about how we spend our time if we want to make the most of it.
If you have downtime and you're looking for something of value to do try one of these activities
  1. Reading
  2. Learning more about a new hobby
  3. Watch an educational or brain game youtube video
These activities although not directly related to your goals they can help to develop your personal development aspirations
