It's okay to ask for help
For the last 7 days I have lived with no lights in my house...
-Not because I didn’t pay the bill
-Not because I was trying some random experiment
But because I tried to figure out a problem on my own 🤦🏾♀️
About 3 weeks ago the light switch in my room started to get finicky. I would turn it on and the lights would be off and I would turn it off and the lights would turn on.
Eventually I was getting annoyed with it, but with everything going on I had anxiety about calling an electrician so I decided to google the best fix.
If you know anything about google you know it can be your best friend AND your worst enemy.
There is a ton of valuable info on google and a ton of unnecessary or flat out wrong info there too. The problem is because I am not a electrician I had no way to determine which was which.
So I tried to fix my light and ended up blowing an entire fuse and in turn had no lights
So I then had to call an electrician- which looking back I should have done that from the beginning
After this entire experience I realized how grateful I am to have lights and how much I often overlook the small things. But I also realize how valuable having help truly is.
In life we try to attempt fixing or figuring out things on our own. But what we do is we cause a bigger mess.
But what I want you to know is:
-it’s okay to not know the answer
it’s okay to ask for help.
This entire experience helped to highlight how valuable it is to have someone who has the “know how”.
It prevents the overwhelm and saves you a lot of time and effort in the end.
Looking at my own experiences the times in my life were I have been most successful it’s when I have had my coach on my side.
When I have clients come to be because they have been stuck for years and then finally they have their first breakthrough when working with me.
Help makes a tremendous difference
So let me ask you are you trying to coach your way into being a coach? Why try to blaze a new trail when you can have one already made for you ?
