Building Book Buzz

There are different types of marketing for each stage of the book writing process and it’s important you don’t wait too long to consider this. Many people want to have a launch party on their publication date or a book signing that first weekend, but book marketing is much more than that.To have a successful launch you need to think strategically and have activities for all phases of your book launch: pre-launch, launch, and post-launch.Pre-launch- share the book cover on social media, sending book updates to your email list, share behind the scenes, and building the excitement. Also consider other places you can share your writing or samples so people have a chance to see what you have to offer as an author.*many people think you shouldn’t market your book in the early stages. Before the book is finalized, you have a lot of fun things to share: the title, the fact that you’re writing a book, behind the scenes, your launch date, special offers, the cover, early reviews and feedback.Launch phase - determine who can share your book on a broader scale (who do you know who would love to promote your book?), share your Amazon link and sales rank. Consider a fast action bonus for those who purchase within a certain time frame. After launch - share positive reviews/testimonials with your audience and offering a special discount or bonus. Be sure to look for ways to get in front of new audiences (podcast or blog features etc.). Whatever you do - do NOT assume the book will market itself even if you have sold a few copies.Do NOT wait until you finish your book to begin the marketing process. This is the biggest mistake you can make. I want you to know it’s never too early to start marketing your book.So while it may seem early to begin thinking about this I challenge you to craft a plan for your launch and if you do using some of these ideas you will be on your way to creating a profitable and impactful launch.Check out my latest video to learn more: https://youtu.be/6OejajSaIO0
