How to Uproot Limiting Beliefs

When working on a big goal it’s important to remove any negative beliefs that hold you back. That’s a lot easier said that done so I want to share a journaling and reflective activity you can use to remove your limiting beliefs and go after your goals confidentially

  1. Set aside a journal, pen to get started writing

  2. Finding a space where you can write for at least 10-20 minutes and will not have any distractions

  3. Identify your goal and determine where you feel stuck

  4. Get in touch with those feelings and start to write everything down that comes to you.

Here are some reflective questions to use while you’re journaling:

  • What will happen if your dream manifests. What will you lose? What might you have to change? What might go wrong? What problems will arise?

  • What can’t be changed that is preventing you from achieving your goal?

  • What needs to change to achieve the goal ?

  • Where are you in your own way?

  • Where are the obstacles?

  • What is it about this dream that you don’t want? What are you trying to avoid?

  • Is there something that feels wrong about this goal?

  • Why don’t you deserve to get what you want?

5. Write until you have nothing left. Exhaust your thoughts and beliefs.6. Review what you wrote. Highlight every negative thought (Meaning each thought that goes against what God wants for and everything that is the opposite of what you want to create, and every criticism etc.)7. Those are limiting beliefs. Now notice where you see overlap and themes with your limiting beliefs.8. Address each limiting belief. Here's how:-When you notice negative thoughts, transform them into positive thoughts. This will overcome resistance by transforming it to an empowering belief which will shift you to a higher vibe. For example instead of saying "this is too hard" say "this is a little challenging, but I am smart enough to tackle it"

-Use Your Resistance to Your Advantage. Once you’ve identify the reason for the resistance (the cause of your frustration, unhappiness, fear and anxiety) look for a way to address your resistance while not allowing it to prevent you from going after your goals! For example if you notice that you’re fearful of going live to announce your new book consider playing music while doing it so you’re in a higher vibe.

- Focus on what makes you feel good about going after your goals! When you’re nervous, tense, anxious, irritable, scared…you’re just not happy. When you start focusing on things that make you feel good you shift your energy and you become focused and successful.
