How to Increase Your Know, Like and Trust Factor

As a new coach, sometimes it can feel extremely overwhelming to get your audience to trust you if they've never heard of you. So many people wonder how do you create a space for them to lean in to trust you?

Today, I want to talk about the know, like and trust factor and how to utilize that so you can stand out as a coach and a life changing coach that you're really called to be. So the know, like and trust factor is a concept that's used in the entrepreneurial world that says that unless people know you, like you and trust you, they're not going to be as inclined to actually buy from you.

And so the best thing that you can do is instead of trying to look for a sale, look for a way in which you can be of service to people. I always say if you can bring value upon value upon value, that's worth its weight in gold. So consider what is it that your audience is looking for from you and how can you bring that information to them in a new, creative and expansive way? One way in which I like to bring value to my audience is by going live on social media. For example I may ask, what are your most pressing questions about starting a coaching business? And then I'll just go live about it. And that's an opportunity for me to…

1. Highlight my level of expertise and to to just bring them free value.

When people see that you're passionate about it, when people see that you're serving from a place of love and genuine joy, they're more inclined to want to take that next step. Now, let me make one thing clear, when I say expertise, I don't mean that you have to have some special degree. I don't have a business degree. I don't mean that you have to have some type of certification. What I mean by expertise is maybe you've had experience with the topic. Maybe you do have a certification. Maybe you've helped a million different people with it. Truly showcasing that level of expertise that you have lets people know that they can trust you, lets people see the authority that you are, and lets people lean into you when it's time to take that next step.

2. Going live also makes it easier when it comes time to ask for the sale because people have seen the value I give for free.

Another strategy to increase your know, like and trust factor is to showcase testimonials or reviews that people have gotten and outcomes people have gotten when they worked with you. So if you're new to coaching, sometimes you can say, well, I don't have any testimonials, "how do I get testimonials or how do I get reviews?" Think about somebody that you have helped for free. Maybe it's your friend, maybe it's a family member. Maybe it's somebody at your local church or somebody online. Ask them, if they can you give you feedback about what it was like to work with you. Then use the feedback they gave you and share that. The reality is you're going to brag about a million different things that you do because you put your blood, sweat and tears figuratively into it. So people expect that to be something that you brag about. In fact, you should. But when somebody else validates the service that you offer, it gives people that are on the fence the permission to take that next step. The third strategy to increase your know like and trust factor is to give something away for free.

Now I know what you're thinking...you likely feel like you work too hard to give things away for free. I will give you three good reasons why it's important to offer something for free.

1.You can't give away too much for free. And when people see that you're generous and you're giving something, they're more inclined to trust you to give even more when they pay to.

2. Giving away something for free offers you an opportunity to get that feedback and get those testimonials that you can use to continue to promote what it is you have to offer.

3. The third strategy for giving something away for free, it allows you to see what it is that your audience needs. So examples of things you can give away for free. Maybe you could create an online webinar where you're teaching people seven steps to create a budget without being stressed. Or you could create a free training that you give people every time they sign up for your email list. You could also offer a free strategy or discovery call where you have an opportunity to engage with your audience. The more conversation that you have with people in your tribe, the more you will know what to create and offer your audience and you will feel more prepared to actually take that next step to work with your next client.

Using these strategies will increase your validity , because people will see that you have so much to offer and that you're passionate about supporting others with it. The know, like and trust factor is a simple strategy that's going to actually increase your success. So what I'm going to challenge you to do is think of one step that you can take today that will increase your know, like and trust factor. It could simply be posting something with a statistic or cool fact about your topic. It could be you going live to engage. It could be you giving a free call to an ideal client. It could be that you decide that you're going to start creating slides for an upcoming training that you're going to do.

Whatever you decide I want you to take one step today in the direction of being able to increase your know, like and trust factor and then continue to build that momentum from there. Remember, your focus should always be about service and then sales. That's going to be so important to put you on the fast track to success if you're looking for more support strategies and tools to jumpstart your coaching business, and to get your first or next paying client.I have just the thing for you and I'm so excited.
