How to Start an Online Coaching Business While Working a 9-5

Have you been wanting to get your coaching business off the ground, but you’re struggling with how to get started since you’re still balancing your 9-5. Great news! You don’t have to rack your brain trying to find the answer. Today I am going to share 6 simple steps to help you balance your business and job without burning out!

  1. Determine your why

I will be honest balancing a job and starting a coaching business is going to be a lot of work. Without a strong “why” it’s going to feel impossible to maintain your motivation. If on the other hand you have a strong reason and purpose you will continue to show up knowing that this consistency and dedication leads you to your blessing on the other side.

  2. Understand your brand

There are many different types of coaches and many different ways in which they operate. When you’re starting and growing your business you need to know who you’re servicing and how you will serve them. Are you doing one on one’s? Will you have a live group coaching option? Will you create self study courses? Will you do high ticket or lower ticket offers? Knowing all of this will help you structure your brand and a schedule that will help you create balance between your job and your business. A key hint here is to raise your prices not the number of clients. This one hint will help you increase your productivity and effectiveness

  3. Create a schedule that will work for you

What days are going to be best for planning content? What days will be best for creating content? What days will be best for working with clients? If you don’t have a schedule that is the quickest way to get quickly thrown off course. Remember your engagement and content is going to be what’s doing the heavy lifting for you while you’re still working.

  4. Get your systems in place

Let’s be honest we can all be extremely busy in general let alone when you’re trying to effectively be in two places at once. I cannot stress enough how important it is to have your systems in place. For example if you’re going to schedule calls with people don’t email back snd forth trying to determine what works for both parties. I challenge you to instead create a free account with Calendly.com or acuity.com to have a scheduler in place

  5. Outsource when you’re not in your zone if genius

When I began my business I spent three valuable weeks trying to create the perfect website which turned out a hot mess and was far from functional. What I learned through this experience is that we have to focus our energy and efforts on the things that are in our zone and not be afraid to ask for help in the areas that aren’t our strong suit. Consider hiring a virtual assistant to help with posting while you’re at work, or a website design to create a comprehensive website. While it may seem like a big investment in the beginning it pays off in the long run!

  6. Increase your magnetism.

You could have all the systems and strategies in the world but if you’re not bringing people in how are you going to get new clients ? Now I know you’re likely wondering what you need to do to make this happen. The great news is I have a perfect strategy just for you.
