Sympathy Vs. Support

When you're going through something that is tough do you typically seek sympathy or do you usually seek support ?

Sympathy is about support/care. It is when we feel sorry or feel pity for someone. Support is when someone is able to give you assistance, guidance, motivation and direction to help you work through something that may have been challenging. When going through something traumatic or a big life change it’s tempting to want to get sympathy.

After all, we want people to feel sorry for what we’re experiencing, we want people to see things from our perspective or maybe we wanna expose the truth. Sadly while sympathy feels good in the moment in the long run support will be what is life changing and ultimately it’s what you need. Sympathy will feed your ego, support will feed your growth.

Sympathy will keep you stuck in a victim mentality and support will help you to step into your power.

In this video, I share three practical steps you can follow to choose support vs. sympathy and most importantly how this decision will change your life. Check it out here: https://youtu.be/dufjOcGA7eE.
